DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS (DVT) EVALUATION & SURVEILLANCE
VeinsPlus is fully accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), which ensures our patients that their ultrasound studies are carried out by exceptionally trained and qualified registered vascular sonographers. In addition, Dr. Manuel Garcia is also a Registered Physician of Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).
Our ultrasound lab can efficiently evaluate patients suspected of having a deep vein blood clot (thrombus) in their legs.
In addition, VeinsPlus also offers DVT Surveilance for patients that have a history of an acute or chronic clot. DVT Surveilance includes:
Baseline comprehensive lower extremity ultrasound imaging to determine the stability and age of the clot(s). Periodic serial ultrasound imaging is also used to monitor for clot extension or resolution.
Helping physicians determine if it is safe to discontinue anticoagulation for patients with history of DVTs
Monitor appropriate anticoagulation therapy
Determine if further intervention may be warranted to try and remove existing clot, or if patients may require further specialized imaging
