SCLEROTHERAPY

VeinsPlus offers Sclerotherapy is one of their non-surgical treatments for varicose and spider veins.  Sclerotherapy involves the use of tiny needles to inject a solution into the varicose or spider veins.  The solution is called a sclerosing agent or sclerosant.  Sclerosants work by causing abnormal veins to collapse and spasm shut.  Over time, these treated veins will be absorbed by the body.

More than one sclerotherapy session may be required to successfully treat the problematic veins.  The treatment visits are usually 30-60 minutes, and patients have minimal restrictions afterwards.

Sclerotherapy is many times used to compliment Endovenous Laser Ablation treatments.  Varicose veins that are are not treatable by means of laser ablation, can in most cases, be treated using sclerotherapy.
